Justin from Baldwin, WI, had discovered water under his home's laminate flooring in the basement. They had ripped out the flooring and some of the wall to find three cracks in the foundation that had been repaired at some point, but were now letting water in. He wanted to discuss some foundation repair solutions with our team, so he called for a FREE estimate to understand our possible solutions. Our Design Specialist, Mac, traveled to her home to take a look around. Once he completed his walkthrough, he was ready to make his recommendation for a plan to transform Justin's basement into a healthy, clean space. He recommended the customer invest in our WaterGuard system. This particular system is typically used in basements and is the premier choice for basement waterproofing as it is installed below the floor, but rests atop the foundation, keeping it out of the "mud zone", making it harder to clog.
Foreman, Tremaine, and his crew, headed out and started making Justin's home a drier, safer place to live. First, our WaterGuard is a patented below-floor drain that rests in a drainage bed on top of the foundation footing. It is our most commonly used drain system because of its resistance to water clogs, easy-to-access service ports, and ability to collect leaking water from basement walls. The team then covered the open gaps with rock and replaced the concrete.
They then went to work installing our CleanSpace vapor barrier to address water Issues. CleanSpace is a 100% waterproof plastic barrier that gets installed right onto the problem walls, and works to catch water entering the space through cracks and holes in the wall. This also reduces the home's chances of being exposed to radon. The crew also used spray foam to seal and waterproof the homeowner's crawl space. Our spray foam is designed to keep the heat inside and prevent cool air from coming in. Justin was grateful for the support and guidance of American Waterworks in protecting his home! With the decision made to install a discharge line in the basement, Foreman Lane and his team went out to the property and got to work. The goal was to direct water away from the foundation of the home so that it would not leak back into the basement. By adding a 30 foot discharge line from the south end of the home into the yard, water gets properly relocated. The team also implemented our LawnScape Outlet, which is a pipe buried from the downspout that lets water outside onto the surface of the lawn while camouflaging the end of the pipe. The lid comes off for easy cleaning, minimizing maintenance for your home. Furthermore, American Waterworks can help prevent wintertime freeze-up of discharge lines. We installed the patented IceGuard® system, an anti-freeze fitting that is installed outside of your home and ejects water away from the foundation if the sump pump discharge lines freeze or become clogged. At the end of the project, Kelle was grateful for the work and glad her peace of mind was restored!
A homeowner in Baldwin, WI, made a startling discovery, pools of water in their basement. Anxious about the long-term damage, the homeowners knew they needed a waterproofing professional to give them an answer. After a quick online search, the homeowner saw us at the top of the list. The homeowner reviewed our impressive waterproofing lineup and knew we were the company for them. While on the website, the homeowner signed up for their FREE estimate. We sent one of our Design Specialists, Jesse, to find the source of the water. Once Jesse saw the water, he could provide the homeowner with a solution to stop further water intrusion. Jesse recommended installing brand-new waterproofing products in the basement. Knowing this was their best option, the homeowner agreed. Once the plans were approved, we sent our Foreman, Lane, and crew to begin the project. First, the crew started by placing the WaterGuard around the basement perimeter. Once the WaterGuard was in place, the crew dug a feedline to the sump pump. Finally, the crew attached CleanSpace to the unfinished basement walls. The crew completed the waterproofing products, so they cleaned up their materials and left the home. The homeowner was beyond grateful for the excellent work completed by the crew. American Waterworks is happy to provide another homeowner peace of mind.
There's no greater solution to a wet basement than a WaterGuard basement waterproofing system combined with a CleanSpace vapor barrier encapsulation system as you will see in this before and after from another satisfied customer in Kenyon, MN.
One of the key ingredients in this project was the CleanSpace® vapor barrier, a super-durable, 20mil plastic sheet material designed to permanently prevent moisture, outside air and pests from getting in through their foundation. The encapsulation system will now guide water leaking in through the foundation walls and redirect it to their Waterguard perimeter floor drainage system and ultimately drain into the SuperSump sump pump.
Daniel Y. of Hammond, WI had his windows blocked and wanted to provide more lighting in his basement with heavy-duty windows. Once he found out American Waterworks installs windows, he gave us a call for a Free Estimate to check out the property. We sent out our Design Specialist, Chad Johnson, to inspect the basement to determine which window would work best. After all of Daniel's questions were answered and told Chad he wanted three windows, he went ahead with the project and scheduled the installation date.
Our foreman, Jose Castillo, and his production crew began the installation by digging the wall pavement out in three spots. They measured all of the edges and sides to make sure that our EverLast Basement Windows would fit properly. Then, they trimmed off any leftover rigid edges to make the finishing touch nice and smooth. Our EverLast Basement Windows are double-paned, energy-efficient, and provide an elegant look to a refurbished basement! Daniel was very satisfied with the outcome and is looking forward to having American Waterworks be his go-to for future projects!
