Basement Waterproofing Before & After Photos

Wilma S. in Mason City, IA contacted American Waterworks after being referred by a previous satisfied customer. Wilma had water seeping into her basement where the floor met the wall. It was starting to cause damage to her property, and she wanted a permanent solution. She met with one of our Design Specialists, Pete Wangen, who evaluated the situation and developed a unique plan to keep Wilma’s basement dry. She approved of the presentation and moved forward with the project. 

Our Foreman, Kiko Pena, and his production crew began the project by removing the concrete around the perimeter of the basement and laying 104 feet of our WaterGuard drainage system. Our WaterGuard system is made with an anti-clog design, collects leaking water from walls, and includes a written lifetime warranty. Next, the crew installed our recommended TripleSafe sump pump. Wilma is happy with the finished project, and glad she chose a permanent solution. 

A customer from Mason City, IA gave us a call when a rental property of his began to take on water in the basement near the base of the wall. Our customer was worried about the damage that the water could do to the structural integrity of the home. Upon further inspection, he also noticed that the problem wall was beginning to bow inwards, showing the first signs of failure. When he got in contact with us he used his FREE estimate to have one of our Design Specialists, Josh, out to the property to assess the situation. Once Josh completed his thorough inspection, he made recommendations as to how we could help. To address the failing wall, Josh recommended the use of our PowerBrace foundation wall repair system. He explained that these steel I-beams will stabilize the wall in its current position, without any further adjustments. He went on to say that over time the beams can be tightened, providing extra stability as the house shifts. To address the water intrusion, Josh recommended three of our products that would work hand in hand. First, he wanted to drape the walls in our CleanSpace Vapor Barrier, a plastic tarp-like material that gets tacked to the wall, catching any water entering through cracks and porous holes. As the water drains down the plastic barrier, it deposits into Josh's second recommendation, our WaterGuard french drainage system. This discreet drainage option sits below the concrete floor of the basement, collecting the water draining down the wall caught by the CleanSpace. It then works to funnel it to an external source, which Josh had recommended to be our TripleSafe sump pump. This sump pump, made of cast iron, is reliable, powerful, and can discharge 2,220 gallons of water per hour. Josh explained that together, these products would ensure the renter's basement would stay dry and stable for years to come. The customer agreed and work began shortly after. 

Our Production crew, led by our Foreman, Kiko, ended up installing 11 PowerBrace, 54ft of WaterGuard, 30 ft of CleanSpace, and 1 TripleSafe sump pump in the basement of the home. Now our customer can have faith in his rental property! 

Alanna D. of Mason City, IA had leaking basement walls, causing her to worry about water moisture and mold. She went to her local home show and saw our booth, presenting our basement waterproofing products. She talked to our Design Specialist, Ryan, who was running the show, and scheduled a FREE estimate. Our Foreman, Jeromy, and his production team began the project by breaking out the concrete floor where the floor and wall meet, forming a trench. Inside the trench, our team installed our WaterGuard Below-Floor Drain. Our WaterGuard is the most common interior drainage system that we provide for homeowners because of its easily accessible service ports, its ability to prevent water clogs, and its design to collect water from basement walls. Next, our team installed our CleanSpace Wall System Vapor Barrier around the wall perimeter, which prevents mold and humidity, and saves money on energy costs. To finish the installation, our team filled the open gaps with river rock and added new concrete over them. Alanna was happy with the work that was done, and had a great experience! 

Lynn and Janet P. of Mason City, IA had a wet basement and they wanted to get it waterproofed before it got any worse. Our Foreman and his production team began the project by jackhammering out the concrete floor perimeter, forming a drainage trench. In the trench, our team installed our WaterGuard Below-Floor Drain, which prevents water clogs, collects water leakage from walls, and has easily accessible service ports in case of a service call or check-up on the system. Next, our team installed our CleanSpace Wall System Vapor Barrier, which is made to prevent humidity and mold build-up, serve as a protective and energy-efficient blanket, and cover any holes or divots in the foundation. To complete the installation, our Foreman and his team filled the open gaps with rock and applied a new layer of concrete over them, ensuring the space looked neater than when they found it. 

A Lyle, MN, homeowner was facing an issue with his basement. His old sump pump had been cycling for days, even though there had been no rain in the last few months.
