In Minneapolis, MN a homeowner was concerned when she was in her basement space and noticed a good amount of water damage on the concrete floors. She was relieved that the basement was unfinished and didn't damage the space too much, but still wanted to prevent the issue from growing over time. She found the American Waterworks website in her search of waterproofing solutions and was interested in our FREE estimate services. She signed up for her own and once we received the request, sent over Design Specialist Dylan Woitas. Dylan carried out a detailed inspection of the basement space and suggested that to stop the current water intake for good, installing a WaterGuard system would be the best solution. The homeowner trusted his judgement and agreed to move forward with the process. When Foreman Arturo Mares and his crew arrived at the site, they made sure to talk the homeowner through the project and answer any questions before starting. Then, they installed the WaterGuard system, which works by intercepting water at the perimeter of the basement and sends it away safely to the sump pump. The homeowner was pleased with the results and thanked our crew for their hard work.

A homeowner in Plymouth, MN had been enjoying in his basement space and the fireplace when he noticed a small puddle of water that had formed. He didn't hesitate to make a call to the place he knew would help him out in this situation: American Waterworks. Our website informed him of our FREE no-obligation estimate appointments, which he signed up for. We sent over Design Specialist Michel Ramirez to inspect the home and speak more with the homeowner. Michel discovered the water leaking would only continue and cause more damage unless a waterproofing system was installed. He explained that by installing our WaterGuard system, it would intercept the water at the perimeter of the basement and safely send it away outside of the home. The homeowner wanted the issue to be solved and agreed to the proposal. When the plans were approved, they were given to our Foreman, Jeromy Anderson, and his crew to begin preparations. They arrived at the site and carefully installed the WaterGuard drain system and covered it in concrete to keep out dirt and debris. Now this homeowner has their leak-free fireplace back and can enjoy the comfort of their basement again.

Our Foreman, Lane Schlobohm, and his production team started the work by installing our CleanSpace Half Wall System Vapor Barrier around the basement wall perimeter, which is made to prevent mold and mildew, and it acts as an extra wall protectant. Next, our team installed our DryTrak Drain Pipe System, which is permanently installed above the floor. Several weeks later, Ryan P, one of our Design Specialists, was headed out to the home. After conducting his inspection, he met with the homeowner to inform him that his suspicions were correct, the space was taking on water, making it the perfect atmosphere for mold growth. Ryan went on to say that we had several products that could help. First, Ryan recommended our WaterGuard drain, explaining that this unique French drain is installed below the floor but atop the footing of the foundation, keeping it clear of the 'mud zone', where similar drains clog. He elaborated, saying that this drain functions to collect water entering the space through holes and cracks in the floor, giving it a channel to flow freely to a disposal site, which in this case, was a pre-placed sump pump. His second recommendation was our Foamax wall panels. Foamax is a polyisocyanurate foam insulated panel with a white foil finish on the front and a foil vapor barrier on the back. This innovative product offers several benefits such as high insulation value, creating a warm basement, brightening your space, being left exposed, and drains wall leaks to the WaterGuard system to keep the space dry and healthy. The homeowner was thrilled with Ryan's recommendations and, after some thought, signed on for the project.
Our Foreman, Lane S, arrived several weeks later. He and his team successfully installed 22 ft of WaterGuard and Foamax, restoring the customer's peace of mind in his mold-free space!
