A homeowner in Clear Lake, IA, had noticed that their concrete walkway had begun sinking on one side, causing it to become uneven. Knowing it impacted the curb appeal of the home, the homeowner began looking into concrete lifting services in the area. The homeowner found us and, after becoming impressed by our concrete before and after transformations, contacted us to schedule their FREE estimate.
In less than a week, our Design Specialist, Brad W., arrived at the home to provide a thorough inspection, answer any questions, and provide the best solution for the homeowner. During the inspection, Brad explained to the homeowner that soil washout is one of the most common causes of settling concrete slabs. Soil washout is the process by which water moves through the ground and washes away the supporting soils, keeping the slabs upright. To fix this issue, Brad recommended our waterproofing foam expanding formula, PolyLevel, to lift the slabs. The homeowner happily agreed to Brad's recommendation, and the installation date was scheduled
In about a month, our Foreman, Patrick B., and his crew arrived at the home for the installation. The crew began by drilling small holes into the slabs. PolyLevel is then injected beneath, filling in the voids in the soil and causing the slabs to lift. Once it has been lifted to the desired level, the crew seals the holes with cement. Lastly, after every had been installed, the crew cleaned up their equipment and left the home.
