Mark S. in New Lisbon, WI had a dirt crawlspace under his home. Moisture was the main concern and was leading to air quality concerns in the living space. The exposed soil was also a significant heat loss concern. He started looking into crawl space encapsulation and contacted American Waterworks for a FREE estimate. We sent one of our Design Specialists, Rick Weber, to evaluate the situation and propose a unique solution to fit Mark’s needs.
Our Foreman, Jesus Covarrubias, and his production crew began the project by removing the debris from the crawl space. Then, drainage matting was placed on the dirt soil, and Terra Block insulation was place on top to create a thermal barrier. Next, the crew installed the rim joist insulation, Cleanspace vapor barrier on the floor, and Foamax wall insulation on the walls to create an airtight barrier between the soil below and the building materials. Mark is glad he chose a long-term solution to protect his home from the consequences that typically come with having a dirt crawl space.

Rick and Vicki S. of Camp Douglas, WI had water seeping through their crawl space, making them worry about mold, rats, insects, and other pests. They went online and came across American Waterworks and our crawl space waterproofing products. They called our office line and scheduled a FREE Estimate with our Design Specialist, Charles Haldeman. Charles went to their home, inspected their problems, and came up with a solution that fit their needs. Rick and Vicki were confident in the product and warranty, so they went ahead with the installation.
Our Foreman, Cole Brinkman, and his production team started the project by installing 1,431 feet of drainage matting, which gives the water that floods into the crawl space a channel underneath the crawl space liner. It is a useful piece of material in the process to keep any crawl space dry. Next, Cole and his team installed 1,596 feet of our CleanSpace Vapor Barrier, which keeps away odors, mold, termites, cockroaches, mice, and other pests that need excess moisture to survive. Rick and Vicky were both very happy with the work and had a great experience!
Client was looking to clean up their crawl space and allow for a major energy efficient storage space.
Charlene T. in Ferryville, WI came across our booth at the Midwest Farm Show in La Crosse, WI. She was concerned about the moisture in her dirt-floor crawl space. She felt like she was losing energy from that space, so she spoke with our Design Specialist, Dylan Woitas, who was at the show and learned about our crawl space encapsulation services. Dylan set up an appointment with Charlene and went to her home to evaluate the situation and design the best solution.
Our Foreman, Kiko Pena, and his production team installed a full perimeter of rim joist insulation which seals the rim joists and lowers Charlene’s energy costs. They also installed our crawl space vapor barrier which protects the space from moisture and potential mold growth. The combination of these encapsulation products turned the crawl space into a dry, clean and energy efficient part of the house. The process took a couple of days to complete, but Charlene now has a bright, clean and healthy crawl space and is saving money on her energy bill each month.

A new homeowner from Ferryville, WI, was making some updates to his new property. The home had a crawl space below, and the new owner knew that if his crawl space wasn't properly encapsulated, it would not only make the home energy inefficient but could take on unwanted water and even critters. He took to the internet to search for the 'best crawl space repair near me', and found our website. He looked through similar crawl space projects we had done in his area and was impressed with what he saw, so he signed up for his FREE estimate. Several weeks later, our Design Specialist made a stop at his home.
Our Design Specialist got right to work evaluating the crawl space. When he finished, he met with the homeowner to deliver his recommendations. First, our Design Specialist recommended our CleanSpace for crawl space. Our CleanSpace is a 100% waterproof vapor barrier that gets applied directly to the unfinished walls of the crawl space. It works to trap any water entering through holes or cracks in the wall, directing it downward. To pair with the CleanSpace, our Design Specialist recommended our drainage matting. This matting gets installed below the CleanSpace on the crawl space floor. The dimpled matting allows any water collected by the CleanSpace a channel to flow to a disposal site such as a sump pump or discharge line. Finally, our Design Specialist informed the homeowner that even a basement with an effective waterproofing system can still develop moisture and mold problems and may feel damp. Concrete walls and floors continually absorb moisture from the soil and release it into the air in your basement, and store-bought dehumidifiers simply aren't strong enough to solve the problem. For this reason, he wanted to use our AprilAire dehumidifier. Adding an Aprilaire dehumidifier creates healthy air and can reduce the number of viable viruses in the air to less than 1% in two days when set to 50% RH. The homeowner agreed to the proposed work and scheduled the job for some time later.
The day of the installation rolled around, and our team, led by their Foreman, Raul B, headed out to the home. When they had finished, they successfully installed 768 sqft of CleanSpace, 660 sqft of drainage matting, and 1 AprilAire dehumidifier. Now, our customer can enjoy his new property knowing that his home is functioning efficiently!
