A Woodbury, MN, homeowner had noticed a foul odor wafting through her home. She had no idea where the smell was coming from but was growing tired of it. She had suspicions that the odor was coming from the crawl space beneath the home but wasn't sure what to look for. She decided to find a contractor specializing in crawl space repairs in Minnesota. When she found our website, she signed up for her FREE estimate, and several weeks later, Ryan P, one of our Design Specialists, was headed out to the home.
Ryan began his estimate inspection by getting down into the crawl space and then inspecting the rest of the home. When he finished, he met with the homeowner to deliver his recommendations. First, Ryan urged the homeowner to consider installing our Foamax wall panels. Ryan explained that insulating your basement or crawl space walls with Foamax provides comfort and energy bill savings while making the walls look clean and bright. These advanced foam insulation panels reduce condensation for exceptional moisture protection. In addition to Foamax, Ryan recommended our CleanSpace and drainage matting. Ryan elaborated, saying that our CleanSpace is a 100% waterproof tarp-like material that gets installed directly to the unfinished walls of the basement and works to keep water entering from the wall off of the basement floor. The drainage matting is a dimpled mat that goes down on the crawl space floor before the CleanSpace, giving the water a channel to flow freely out of the space. The homeowner was thrilled, and signed on the spot.
On the day of the installation, our Foreman, Arturo M, and his team effortlessly installed 170 sqft of Foamax, 362 ft of CleanSpace, and 290 sqft of Drainage Matting. Now, our customer can enjoy her home free of odors from a damp crawl space!
A homeowner from St. Paul, MN got in touch with us when he noticed that his floor over his crawl space was beginning to slope inwards. Concerned that the issue might be tough to fix, the homeowner got in touch with us to see if we could help. We set him up with our FREE estimate and a few weeks later our Design Specialist, Daniel, headed out to the home to see what could be done.
After Daniel completed his inspection, he let the homeowner know that he was experiencing slopping floors because the beams that held up the ceiling of the crawl space had been compromised. Daniel went on to say that water intrusion had led the wooden beams to rot. He explained that he had a few options to restore the stability of the crawl space and ensure that water intrusion would be a thing of the past. Daniel laid out his plan and started by recommending our SmartJack Crawl Space Stabilizers to address the sloping. He informed the homeowner that our SmartJack is an adjustable supplemental support beam specifically used for sagging crawl spaces, as it can often lift failing floor joists or beams, restoring them to their original position. Made with strong, corrosion-resistant, galvanized steel, these beams do not develop rust, and remain adjustable for years should you need to perform future adjustments. Next, he recommended using our Crawl Space Waterproofing systems, a combination of crawl space vapor barrier, crawl space drainage matting, and our SmartPipe drain. Daniel explained that these products work hand in hand to eliminate unwanted water from the space and provide a healthy, clean, and insulated crawl space. The homeowner agreed and work began a few weeks later.
Our Foreman, Jeromy, and his team began the process by installing 14 of our SmartJacks throughout the crawl space of the home. Next, they laid 776 sqft of drainage matting and another 1040 sqft of vapor barrier throughout the space. Now that the job is completed our homeowner is elated to know he no longer needs to worry about the structural integrity of his home!

A real estate agent in White Bear Lake, MN reached out to American Waterworks after a homeowner was struggling to sell their previous home.
American Waterworks recommended installing CleanSpace, a crawl space vapor barrier, because it is one of the most cost-effective ways to improve a home. Along with the protection from mold and rot, a dry crawl space can free their home of insects and other pests that need excess moisture to survive. Mice and rats are deterred by the plastic vapor barrier, and flooding waters will be kept at bay.
