A homeowner in Saint Michael, MN, noticed the crack in their wall rapidly grow. Worried about the long-term effects, the homeowner knew it was time to have the wall professionally inspected. The homeowner was overwhelmed by all their options, so they tried to narrow their search using HomeAdvisor. On the top of the list was us, American Waterworks, with a nearly perfect five-star rating. The homeowner decided to take a closer look and was impressed by our list of services. Knowing we would do a good job, the homeowner decided to sign up for their FREE estimate. Once the estimate was set, the homeowner prepared for the arrival of one of our Design Specialists, Eric. After Eric arrived, he greeted the homeowner and started the basement inspection. Eric determined that the wall was rapidly failing due to hydrostatic pressure. Eric suggested it be permanently stabilized to prevent the wall from total failure. The homeowners agreed and production preparations began. Our Foreman, Luis, and his crew traveled to the home to begin production. First, the crew made sure the wall was prepared for the GeoLock installation. Then, the crew installed five GeoLock anchors on the east basement wall. Once the GeoLocks were secured, the crew cleaned up their materials and left the home. The homeowners were relieved to know their wall was no longer failing. American Waterworks is happy to provide another homeowner peace of mind.
Penny P. in Gaylord, MN was referred to American Waterworks by a previous customer. She had cracked and bowing basement walls, and she was concerned about the structural integrity of her foundation. We sent one of our Design Specialists, Jeremy Radtke, to meet with Penny, evaluate the situation, and propose the best, cost-effective solution. Penny was impressed with Jeremy’s presentation, and she moved forward with the project.
Our Foreman, Jesus Covarrubias, and his production crew were able to successfully stabilize the basement walls by installing 7 Geo-Lock Wall Anchors along the damaged foundation. The anchor rods were drilled deep into the soil outside of the home and wall plates installed on each end of the rod to secure the anchor. Then, they tightened the anchor to start the process of straightening the wall. Penny’s peace of mind has been restored, and she is glad she made the investment to protect her home!

Our Foreman, Jesus Covarrbuias, and his crew began the installation by digging seven holes outside of the home, beyond the foundation. Next, our team drilled a long, medal rod from the inside of the home to each hole outside. Once they found the end of the rod in each hole, they screwed on and tightened an anchor plate, which tightly holds the rod in place with the soil. Our team screwed on and tightened a GeoLock Anchor to the ends of each rod inside of the home to strengthen and straighten the foundation wall back into its original position. To complete the installation, Jesus and his crew backfilled each hole and made sure the soil was tight and compact, leaving the yard looking much neater than when they found it. Brittany and Matt were happy with the work and could not believe it only took one day!
