Our Design Specialist recommended having wall anchors installed along the cracked walls to permanently stabilize the foundation. Our production crew started the installation by drilling 13 long, metal rods through the brick wall into the soil surrounding the home. They secured both ends of the rod with anchor plates and tightened them. These anchors can continue to be tightened over time to gradually straighten the wall. Anthony's walls became permanently secured with the installation of these wall anchors. He is glad he made the investment to protect his foundation for the long-term.

Brain B. of Le Center, MN had water seeping into his basement and his foundation wall was cracking. Both problems were causing him to worry about the safety and value of his home. Next, our team installed our CleanSpace Wall System Vapor Barrier around the basement wall perimeter, which is designed to prevent mold and humidity, save money on energy bills, and it gives the basement a clean appearance. Lastly, our team installed our Wall Anchors over the CleanSpace to straighten the walls and pull them back to their natural position. To complete the installation, our team filled the open-floor gaps with river rock and applied a new layer of concrete over them, ensuring the space was neat and clean. A homeonwer in Le Center, MN, noticed their walls were beginning to tilt inward. Worried about the long-term effects, the homeowner knew they needed to find a professional to provide them with answers. After looking into "what are the signs of a bad foundation?", one of the items that grabbed their attention was a blog discussing "Stages of Wall Movement", written by American Waterworks. After reading about the different stages and how they can help, the homeowner decided to sign up for their FREE estimate. Once the estimate was set, the homeowner prepared for the arrival of our Design Specialist, Lance. A few days later, Lance promptly arrived at the home and began the thorough inspection of the foundation. During his inspection, Lance confirmed that several walls were suffering from settlement. To prevent the settlement from continuing, Lance recommended stabilizing the walls with GeoLock Wall Anchors. Knowing this was the best plan of action, the homeowner decided to go ahead with Lance's proposal. Next, Lance and the homeowner worked together to find the best installation date. When the installation date arrived, the homeowner prepared for the arrival of our Foreman, Lane, and his crew. Lane and his crew secured six GeoLock Wall Anchors along the south wall. Once the GeoLock Wall Anchors were secured, Lane and his crew cleaned up their matierals and left the home. The homeowner was given peace of mind knowing their foundation was properly secured. 

Radon is a naturally occurring radioactive gas that has become the second leading cause of lung cancer. Naomi R. in Norwood Young America, MN learned that radon kills over 20,000 people each year and she realized that they had not had their home tested yet. Naomi had used us in the past to repair her foundation and had a pleasant experience, so she contacted us again to have her home tested for radon. One of our Design Specialists, Jeremy Radtke, went to her home to set up the radon test and give her a free estimate. The results showed that her home did in fact have high levels of radon, so Jeremy recommended that they have our radon mitigation system installed. Naomi was eager to have the system installed to protect their health and reduce their chances of getting lung cancer.

Our production team installed the radon mitigation system by inserting a PVC pipe through her sump pump which creates a suction point for the gas. The PVC pipe runs up the house and through the roof. There is a fan installed at the top of the PVC pipe to ensure that the gas is pushed out and away from the home. After each installation, we do a second radon test to ensure that the radon mitigation system is working properly and expelling the radon from the home. The second test reported that Naomi’s home now had significantly lower levels of radon. She is glad that her home is now protected from this harmful, radioactive gas, and that she took action to protect her and her family’s health.
