Failing Basement Wall Gets a Solution in Saint Paul, MN

A Saint Paul, MN, homeowner was beginning the process of getting his home ready for resale. Before he could be confident in his listing, he knew that he had a major foundation issue to fix in the basement. Over the years, the wall had begun cracking in several places. The homeowner decided to find a solution, so he decided to claim one of our FREE estimates. A few weeks later, our Design Specialist, Mac C, headed out to the home to see what could be done.

After Mac completed his inspection, he met with the homeowner to deliver his recommendations and discuss the next steps. Mac began by saying that foundation walls are designed to support loads from above, not from the side. When side pressure on your walls exceeds their ability to withstand the force, they will begin to crack, bow, slide in at the bottom, and/or tilt in at the top. In this case, Mac suspected street creep damage was the culprit. Street creep is a problem that is caused by thermal expansion and contraction of exterior concrete pavement that surrounds a home. As this concrete expands against a driveway with inadequate expansion joints, the driveway is pushed against the garage slab, which in turn pushes against the foundation, causing damage. For this reason, Mac was recommending our GeoLock anchors to fix the issue. The GeoLock® Street Creep Repair System will prevent future damage with new expansion joints in your concrete driveway as well as a steel wall anchor system that reinforces and straightens your foundation walls. The homeowner liked the sound of preserving his driveway and decided to schedule the project for several weeks later.

On the day of the installation, our team, led by their Foreman, Jesus M, installed 5 of our GeoLock anchors along the problem wall. Now, our customer can confidently list his home knowing it's in tip-top shape!

Concrete Leveling in Maplewood, MN

A homeowner in Maplewood, MN, noticed the walkway leading into their home was uneven and separating. Worried about the long-term damages, the homeowner knew they looked into "concrete leveling near me". At the top of the list stood us, American Waterworks, so the homeowner decided they needed to take a closer look at our services. Impressed with our five-star ratings and reviews, the homeowner knew we were the ideal company for the project. Next, the homeowner signed up for their FREE estimate on our website. After the estimate was set, the homeowner awaited the arrival of Dustin, one of our Design Specialists. Dustin arrived at the home and started the thorough inspection of the basement. During his thorough inspection, Dustin discovered several areas suffering from settlement. To prevent this settlement from continuing, Dustin recommended installing PolyLevel underneath the struggling concrete. After considering all their options, the homeowner knew this was their best option. Once they approved the proposal, it was sent to our Logistics team to approve and build the project. The details were finalized, then the project was scheduled for a few weeks later. As soon as the project date arrived, our Foreman, Patrick, and his crew traveled to the home to begin the installation. First, Patrick and his crew made sure the walkway was ready for installation. Next, Patrick and his crew installed PolyLevel underneath the struggling sidewalk. Once the PolyLevel was secured, the crew shifted their focus to installing NexusPro in the sidewalk walk cracks. Finally, the crew cleaned up their materials and left the home. The homeowner was impressed with the excellent work completed by the crew. American Waterworks is delighted to help lift and level its customers' damaged concrete.

Damp Basement Addressed in Eagan, MN

An Eagan, MN, homeowner was growing more concerned about her basement bedroom. Each time it rained, the carpet of the room took on water, becoming overly saturated. The homeowner contacted a handyman, who referred him to us. He decided to set up his FREE estimate, and several weeks later, Darin S, one of our Design Specialists, was headed out to the home.

Darin completed his thorough inspection of the basement. When he finished, he met with the homeowner to deliver his recommendations. First, Darin recommended our WaterGuard. This unique French drain gets installed below the slab of the concrete floor and atop the footing of the foundation. It works to collect water entering through holes or cracks in the floor, giving the water a channel to flow freely to a disposal site. One thing Darin had noticed was that the basement lacked a means of disposing of unwanted water. For this reason, Darin recommended our SuperSump sump pump. This pump keeps your basement dry using a float-operated and fully submersible pump. The homeowner agreed with Darin's recommendations and scheduled the job on the spot.

On the day of the project, our Foreman, Diego B, led his team through the flawless installation of 34ft of WaterGuard, and 1 SuperSump sump pump. Now, our customer can rest easy knowing that her water intrusion issues have been handled!
