A homeowner in Grafton, IA, knew it was time to have their sump pump replaced. Knowing they could not do this themselves, the homeowner began looking into companies that offer sump pumps. The homeowner wasn't sure who to work with so they asked their friends for any recommendations. Several of their friends recommended working with us, American Waterworks, so the homeowner decided to take a closer look at our services and previous projects. Impressed with our work, the homeowner decided to sign up for their FREE estimate. After the estimate was set, the homeowner prepared for the arrival of one of our Design Specialists, Ryan. Ryan traveled to the home and began his detailed inspection of the basement. During his inspection, Ryan confirmed the sump pump needed to be replaced. Additionally, he recommended other waterproofing products be installed in the basement. The homeowner knew this was their best option, so they agreed with Ryan's recommendations. Next, Ryan sent the proposal to our Logistics team to build the project. Once the project was built, it was assigned to our Foreman, Raul, and his crew. Raul and his crew traveled to the home and started the waterproofing installation. First, the crew installed WaterGuard around the perimeter of the basement. Once the WaterGuard was secured, the crew shifted their focus to taking out the old sump and replacing it with the TripleSafe Sump Pump. After the TripleSafe was installed, the crew installed a feedline across the basement to connect it to the new sump pump. Finally, the crew attached CleanSpace to the unfinished basement walls. Once all the products were installed, the crew cleaned up their materials and left the home. The homeowner was delighted with the excellent work completed by the crew. Ken L. in Glenville, MN was concerned about the air quality in their basement. He had their basement tested for mold by another contractor and they confirmed that they did in fact have mold. They removed the mold and recommended that he look into having his basement waterproofed. He contacted American Waterworks to receive a FREE estimate, so we sent a Design Specialist to their home to inspect his basement and design the right solution specific to their waterproofing needs. Ken was pleased with our thorough plan to waterproof their basement, so he chose to move forward with the installation.
Our production crew removed the concrete around the perimeter of the basement floor and drilled small holes through the wall which released the water that was built up. They laid the WaterGuard drainage system and installed the TripleSafe sump pump, which is our most reliable sump pump system. The WaterGuard now properly guides water to the sump pump and the water is then expelled from the home through the discharge line. Lastly, they installed our CleanSpace vapor barrier system which protects the basement from humidity and future mold growth. They replaced the concrete and the project was complete! Ken’s basement has been completely transformed to a dry, healthier space, and his peace of mind has been restored.
