A homeowner in Grand Forks, ND, went to their basement following heavy rain and stumbled across a frightening surprise. The homeowner discovered their basement had flooded and the walls were damaged. Concerned about the long-term effects, the homeowner knew they needed to find a solution. The homeowner had a friend who had a similar issue, so they asked them for any suggestions. Their friend recommended working with us, American Waterworks, so the homeowner signed up for their FREE estimate. After the estimate was set, the homeowner prepared for the arrival of one of our Design Specialists, James. Once James arrived at the home, he started the detailed investigation of the basement. During his inspection, James determined the basement was struggling in the north and south corner of the basement. James recommended fully waterproofing those two corners of the basement. After deliberating their options, the homeowner agreed and the plans were sent to the office to be finalized. The office approved the plans, which were passed to our Foreman, Emmanuel, and his crew. Once Emmanuel and his crew received the plans, they traveled to the home and began the project. First, Emmanuel and his crew started by installing WaterGuard around the perimeter of the basement. Next, the crew focused on digging a feedline across the basement to connect the two water systems. Then, the crew attached CleanSpace to the unfinished basement walls. Finally, the crew cleaned up their materials and left the home. The homeowner was relieved to know their basement was properly waterproofed. Diane B. of Valley City, ND had water leakinHEREg in her basement, causing her to worry about her home repair needs. She got in contact with American Waterworks and scheduled a FREE estimate with our Design Specialist, Ian Schultz. Ian went to her home, examined the leaks, and drew out the solution of our WaterGuard Below-Floor Drain and our CleanSpace Wall System Vapor Barrier. Diane was confident and got all of her questions answered, so she moved forward with the project, and signed the contract.
Our Foreman, Ryan Loe, and his production team started the installation by breaking out the concrete floor perimeter, forming a trench. Inside the trench, our team installed our WaterGuard Below-Floor Drain, which serves as an underground drain, collects water seepage from basement walls, and prevents mud and water clogs. Next, our team installed our CleanSpace around the wall perimeter. Our CleanSpace Vapor Barrier is made to prevent mold and mildew, give the basement a nice and clean appearance, and is flexible enough to cover any uneven surfaces or abnormal walls. To complete the installation, Ryan and his crew covered the open gaps with river rock and applied new concrete over them to ensure the spae looked better than when they found it. Diane was thrilled with the work that was done!
