A homeowner in Grafton, IA, knew it was time to have their sump pump replaced. Knowing they could not do this themselves, the homeowner began looking into companies that offer sump pumps. The homeowner wasn't sure who to work with so they asked their friends for any recommendations. Several of their friends recommended working with us, American Waterworks, so the homeowner decided to take a closer look at our services and previous projects. Impressed with our work, the homeowner decided to sign up for their FREE estimate. After the estimate was set, the homeowner prepared for the arrival of one of our Design Specialists, Ryan. Ryan traveled to the home and began his detailed inspection of the basement. During his inspection, Ryan confirmed the sump pump needed to be replaced. Additionally, he recommended other waterproofing products be installed in the basement. The homeowner knew this was their best option, so they agreed with Ryan's recommendations. Next, Ryan sent the proposal to our Logistics team to build the project. Once the project was built, it was assigned to our Foreman, Raul, and his crew. Raul and his crew traveled to the home and started the waterproofing installation. First, the crew installed WaterGuard around the perimeter of the basement. Once the WaterGuard was secured, the crew shifted their focus to taking out the old sump and replacing it with the TripleSafe Sump Pump. After the TripleSafe was installed, the crew installed a feedline across the basement to connect it to the new sump pump. Finally, the crew attached CleanSpace to the unfinished basement walls. Once all the products were installed, the crew cleaned up their materials and left the home. The homeowner was delighted with the excellent work completed by the crew. Jordan P in Austin, MN was suffering from water leaking into his basement during heavy rains. He wanted to have his basement repaired as soon as possible, so he started looking for a waterproofing contractor. He found the American Waterworks website and was happy to see that we offer FREE estimates. We sent one of our Design Specialists, Pete Wangen, to his home to inspect his basement and provide him with a solution. Pete designed a thorough plan that was specific to Jordan’s waterproofing needs, and Jordan decided to move forward with the installation of our waterproofing system.
Our production crew installed a full perimeter of our WaterGuard drainage system into the concrete floor and connected it to a TripleSafe sump pump, which is our most reliable sump pump. The TripleSafe is backed by three layers of protection which includes a battery backup that can pump out 11,500 gallons of water on a full charge. The water leaking into Jordan’s basement is now properly guided through the WaterGuard drainage system into the sump pump. From there, the water gets pushed through the discharge line to the outside of the home. Jordan is glad he chose a system that will protect his basement for the long-term.

Our design specialist came up with a personalized plan for the homeowner. The homeowner was confident in the resolution so they signed the proposal and got set up a date to start.
On the day of the installation our crew arrived and began work. They started the project by breaking out the concrete floor perimeter, forming a trench. In the trench, our crew installed our WaterGuard, which is an interior drainage system that prevents mud clogs and collects water leakage from basement walls. Next, our crew installed our CleanSpace Wall System Vapor Barrier, which is designed to prevent water from seeping through the walls and save money on energy costs. To finish up the project, our crew filled the open-floor gaps with river rock and applied a new layer of concrete over them, ensuring the space was neater and cleaner than they found it.
A follow-up call was made to the homeowner and they were very satisfied with the work that was done. The homeowner stated that the crew did a great job, was very clean and efficient.
