A customer from North Dakota got in contact with us about their need to seal off their crawl space area to prevent water from entering. Our Design Specialist, Kole, determined the best plan of action to be to remove any debris such as concrete chunks and rocks, encapsulate the area with CleanSpace, and spray Foamax to seal off any remaining points of entry. Now the homeowners have peace of mind knowing their crawl space will be energy efficient and water-free!
A homeowner in Rutland, ND, was concerned about a foul odor coming from their crawl space. Unsure of the cause, the homeowner looked for a crawl space repair company to provide them with an explanation. Following a friend's referral, the homeowner decided to sign up for a FREE estimate with American Waterworks. We sent our Design Specialist, Ian, to the property to find the cause of the issue. Following his in-depth inspection, Ian discovered that the crawl space was unencapsulating, leading to unwanted water in the space which creates wood rot, mold, and mildew. Ian recommended that the crawl space be repaired to prevent any further damage. The homeowners agreed so the solution preparation began. Before the crew's arrival, the homeowners were asked to clear any debris from the crawl space and move the washer. Once the crew arrived, they ensured that the crawl space was cleared and leveled before repairs could start. First, the crew installed CleanSpace on the west, south, and east crawl space floors. As detailed in the plans, the crew was allowed to wrap up the wall as needed with CleanSpace. Once the CleanSpace was installed, the crew moved to apply Sprayfoam along the exterior facing joist pockets. Sprayfoam was applied on a whole wall in the seat crawlspace. The homeowner was pleased with the work done by the crew. If you are experiencing a similar issue, sign up for your FREE estimate today!
Paul from Mentor, MN, got in touch with us when he began to notice water in the crawl space beneath his summer property in addition to previous issues with tiny critters from the surrounding woods entering the space via holes and cracks in the foundation. Paul used his FREE estimate and we sent our Design Specialist, Kole, out to their property so he could do a full investigation and make his final recommendations. Kole recommended that the homeowners encapsulate the entire space with our CleanSpace paired with our drainage matting to make sure the water flows to the appropriate place. Kole also suggested using our spray foam to seal off any cracks or holes that could be used as a point of entry for water or critters. Our Foreman, Kiko, and his crew were able to install all of Kole's recommendations without any issues. Now John and his family can enjoy their beautiful summer home without any worries of uninvited critters guests.
Brandon and Brandi, from Grygla, MN, were growing more concerned over the state of their wet crawl space. If a crawl space begins to rot, grow mold, or experience structural problems, issues can extend to all parts of the home. They wanted to understand why it was happening, make sure that the issue was corrected, and restore peace of mind moving forward. After deciding on our company, we set them up with a FREE inspection. A few weeks later, our Design Specialist headed out to the property. Once he completed his walkthrough, he made recommendations as to how American Waterworks could help. Our customers agreed with the recommendations, and work began shortly after.
Our team installed the recommended drainage matting; a dimpled matting that gets installed onto the crawl space floor, giving any excess water a route to flow through the space and be disposed of at an external site such as a drain or a sump system. Next, the crew permanently waterproofed the space by installing our SmartPipe and Drain Tile drainage system. The next step was to install our CleanSpace vapor barrier to address water entering through the wall. CleanSpace is a 100% waterproof plastic barrier that gets installed right onto the problem walls, and works to catch water entering the space through cracks and holes in the wall. This also reduces the home's chances of being exposed to radon. The drainage system now properly guides water to the Super Sump Plus pump, and from there, the sump pump pushes the water through the discharge line and expels it from the home. Brandon and Brandi were grateful for the support and guidance of American Waterworks in protecting their home!
Sue, from Mapleton, ND, was growing more concerned over the state of her wet crawl space. If a a damp crawl space begins to rot, grow mold, or experience structural problems, issues can extend to all parts of the home. Sue wanted to understand why it was happening, make sure that the issue was corrected, and restore peace of mind moving forward. After deciding on our company, we set her up with a FREE inspection. A few weeks later, our Design Specialist, Ian, headed out to the property. Once he completed his walkthrough, he made recommendations as to how American Waterworks could help.
First, Ian recommended our drainage matting; a dimpled matting that gets installed onto the floor of the crawl space, giving any excess water a route to flow through the space and be disposed of at an external site such as a drain or a sump system. Ian's second recommendation was our CleanSpace vapor barrier, a 100% waterproof tarp that works to trap any excess moisture in the space, redirecting it to the appropriate disposal site. Our customer agreed with the recommendations and work began shortly after.
Our Foreman, Jeremiah, and his team ended up installing 1938 sqft of the CleanSpace and a 4' tall Half Wall System in the crawl space.
