Todd and Wendie of Danube, MN, had significant issues with their damp basement, which had cracking and bowing walls. They decided to call American Waterworks for a FREE estimate, and shortly after the appointment was scheduled, our Design Specialist, Shane, headed out to the property.
Following the consultation and proposed solutions of waterproofing and foundation support, Todd scheduled an appointment for installation.
Our Foreman, Luis, and his production crew started the installation by implementing our PowerBrace Wall System and GeoLock Wall Anchors to correct the foundation issues. 7 PowerBraces and 11 GeoLocks were installed. The PowerBrace system is an I-shaped beam that stabilizes and helps straighten the bow of the wall over time. The PowerBrace system is drilled into the home's support beams and the concrete on which the home lies. The Geolock system stabilizes foundation walls by anchoring them to the hard-packed virgin soil beyond the foundation.
Next, the crew broke out the concrete floor perimeter and formed a trench. In the trench, our team installed our WaterGuard System. Our WaterGuard is a patented below-floor drain that rests in a drainage bed on top of the foundation footing. It is our most commonly used drain system because of its resistance to water clogs, easy-to-access service ports, and can collect leaking water from basement walls. They also installed our TripleSafe Sump Pump System. The TripleSafe Sump Pump System has three levels of protection to solve all water problems a homeowner may experience.
Along with the TripleSafe Sump Pump, there is a battery backup that helps in cases where power is lost in a home. The battery will keep the pumps draining any excess water build-up. To complete the WaterGuard project, Luis and his team covered the open gaps with rock and replaced the concrete.
The team then proceeded to install the CleanSpace wall System around the perimeter of the basement. Our CleanSpace Wall System is attached to the walls with plastic fasteners, so it never falls. It also prevents humidity from invading the walls and gives the basement a clean and bright appearance, with a 25-year warranty.
The couple was pleased with the outcome and glad they decided to go with Waterworks.
Arlene O. of Avoca, MN had cracked foundation walls in her basement, making her worry about the stability of her home. After seeing an American Waterworks advertisement in her local newspaper, she called our office line to set up a FREE Estimate with our Design Specialist, Tom Ringeisen. Tom went to her home to inspect the cracks and come up with a solution. After a thorough inspection, Arlene got all her questions answered, so she went ahead with the project.
Our Foreman, Trevor Ellingson, and his production team began the project by digging small holes in her backyard, parallel to the foundation wall. From inside the basement, our crew installed a long, metal rod from the inside foundation wall to each hole outside. Then, our team screwed on and tightened a GeoLock Wall Anchor on the ends of each rod to pull back and straighten the foundation wall into its normal position. To complete the work, Trevor and his crew backfilled the holes and replaced the soil. Arlene couldn't believe how quickly they completed the work and had a remarkable experience from start to finish!
A homeowner in Saint Martin, MN, saw cracks in their wall grow over time. Uncertain about what is causing the cracks, the homeowner called American Waterworks and signed up for a FREE estimate. Once all the appointment details were set in stone, we sent out our Design Specialist, Daniel, to provide the homeowners with answers. Following his detailed inspection, Daniel discovered that the crack wall was beginning to fail. Daniel suggested that the foundation be stabilized to save the wall and basement. Wanting to save their basement, the homeowners agreed and preparations began. Our Foreman, Rual, and his crew made it to the property and began installation. First, the crew started by installing four GeoLock Anchors on the south basement wall. After the GeoLock Anchors were installed, CarbonArmor was applied on the east and west basement walls. After the CarbonArmor was installed, the crew cleaned up and headed on their way. The homeowners were relieved that their walls were stabilized and the home was no longer at risk.
