Front Concrete Walkway Gets Lifted in Hayfield, MN

A homeowner from Hayfield, MN, was getting tired of constantly tripping on a piece of sunken concrete in front of his home. He decided to begin his search for a company that could help fix the situation. Through his searches, he found the American Waterworks website. He decided to sign up for our FREE estimates, and a few weeks later, our Design Specialist, Aidan H, headed out to the home.

Once Aidan completed his inspection, he met with the homeowner to give his recommendations. Aidan explained that American Waterworks could address the sinking concrete with help from our PolyLevel method. PolyLevel is a dense polyurethane foam that expands when it's injected beneath concrete slabs, filling voids left by soil erosion and slowly lifting the slab back to its original place. He went on to say that we finished our concrete lifts by installing our NexusPro. A silicone-based sealant, NexusPro gets applied to cracks and joints in the concrete, preventing unwanted moisture and debris from penetrating the slabs. The homeowner agreed and work was scheduled to begin a few weeks later.

On the day of the installation, our Foreman, Dylon V, made quick work of the installation. He successfully eliminated tripping hazards, and now our homeowner is thrilled that he can walk across his walkway with no worries!

Egress Window Installed in Hayfield, MN

A Hayfield, MN,  homeowner was in the process of upgrading his basement when he had the idea to add a bedroom to the space. He was worried that this bedroom wouldn't be up to code because of the improper means of egress, so he decided to find a contractor who specialized in this area. He had previous work foundation work done by American Waterworks, and decided to give us a call for another FREE estimate, and several weeks later, our Design Specialists were scheduled to stop at the home.

When our Design Specialist arrived, he launched right into his inspection, meeting with the customer when he had finished. He informed the homeowner that he recommended our RockWell egress window well, explaining that RockWell offers an attractive alternative to ugly window wells while providing a safe, code-compliant basement egress. RockWell window wells are a one-piece, rigid construction that will not collapse from backfill or allow water to leak through the well walls. They’re UV stable, rust, and rot-proof, and stand up to extreme temperatures. RockWell’s egress window wells feature durable, built-in steps that make it easy for your family to escape from your basement in the event of an emergency. We also offer safety ladders for our Premier series window wells. The homeowner liked the sound of our plan and signed on the spot.

On the day of the project, our Foreman, Victor S, and his team worked tirelessly to install the products. When they had finished, our customer was happy to know that American Waterworks had helped him restore his peace of mind in his home once again!

Radon Mitigated in Mazeppa, MN

A homeowner from Mazeppa, MN, was chatting with his neighbor one morning when his neighbor informed him that he had his home tested for radon gas. The homeowner knew very little about the dangerous gas but decided perhaps he should have his home tested as well. His neighbor had told him that American Waterworks offers radon testing in MN, so the homeowner decided to call us and schedule his FREE estimate. In the meantime, the homeowner headed to his local home improvement store to buy an at-home radon test. When the results came back high, he was confident that he had made the right choice by contacting American Waterworks.

Several weeks later, our Design Specialist, Mac C, headed out to the home. He started the appointment by scouting the best place for a radon mitigation system for this home. When he finished, he met with the homeowner. Mac began by explaining that the homeowner had done the right thing by testing his home and calling us. Mac went on to say that the tricky thing about radon is that because it's odorless, colorless, and tasteless, it's impossible to know whether or not your home is infested without proper testing. Mac then went on to say that because the levels in the home were well above 4 pCi/Ls, he was recommending a radon mitigation system be installed in the home. He then explained that a typical radon mitigation system consists of a large-diameter plastic pipe that connects the air beneath your foundation to the outdoors. An in-line fan sucks radon-rich air from beneath your foundation and expels this hazardous air to the exterior. Instead of entering your basement or other living space area through numerous gaps and cracks in the foundation, radon gas is extracted from beneath your foundation before it can permeate into interior space. The homeowner liked the sound of Mac's plan and scheduled the job for some time later.

Eventually, the day of the installation rolled around. Our Foreman, Dakota M, was able to successfully install the radon mitigation system without any worries. Now, our homeowner can be confident that only the healthiest air is circulating in his home.
