A homeowner from Clarks Grove, MN, had been keeping an eye on his bowing wall for some time now. Over the years, he had noticed it worsening and was now ready to take action. Ryan got right to work evaluating the space. Once he finished, he was ready to make his recommendations. Ryan began by explaining that foundation walls are designed to support loads from above, not from the side. When the side pressure on your wall exceeds its ability to withstand the force, it begins to crack, bow, slide in at the bottom, and/or tilt inward at the top. Ryan went on to say that while full replacement of the failing wall was a possibility, it was also expensive, invasive, and time-consuming, but if the soil conditions didn't change, the same problem would occur over time. For this reason, Ryan recommended our GeoLock anchors. Wall anchors counteract soil pressure by anchoring the wall to the stable, undisturbed soil outside of your home. After installation, wall anchors can often be tightened over time to further straighten your foundation walls and pull them back to their original position. The homeowner liked Ryan's plan and scheduled the job on the spot. 

When the project date rolled around, our Foreman, Jorge M, and his team were able to effortlessly install 13 of our GeoLock anchors around the basement of the home. Now, our customer can rest easy knowing his foundation worries are in the past!

A resident in Albert Lea, MN was experiencing water entering into his basement on one side of the home.  American Waterworks installed 55 feet of WaterGuard and the homeowner's basement has been dry ever since.  

A homeowner in Albert Lea, MN contacted us with concerns regarding a bowing foundation wall. Design Specialist Mac Cole developed a solution using our warrantied Wall Anchor System to stabilize their foundation. The homeowner now has confidence that their foundation is secure. 

Ms. Eastland had discovered her home was exposing her to high levels of radon gas, almost 3x the acceptable limit.  In order to properly mitigate the gas from her home, American Waterworks needed to seal off the dirt crawlspace located on the North side of her basement. By combining our CleanSpace vapor barrier and SilverGlo wall insulation systems, American Waterworks was able to create a suction point in the crawl space to pull the radon from within the home and expel it outside the house.

Alton in Albert Lea, MN had large cracks throughout his basement walls. He was concerned about the pressure that was being placed on his foundation and wanted to secure his walls before the damage became any worse. He contacted American Waterworks and we sent one of our Design Specialists, Pete Wangen, to his home to inspect his situation and provide him with a FREE estimate. Pete determined that we would be able to permanently repair his foundation by installing PowerBraces, which is a much more cost-effective solution compared to replacing the foundation. Alton was pleased with Pete’s solution, so they scheduled the installation.

Our Foreman, Hugo Sanchez, and his crew installed 7 PowerBraces against the walls. PowerBraces are strong steel I-beams that have a special rust-resistant zinc coating to ensure that your system will look and perform like new for years to come. By installing the PowerBraces, we immediately halted the inward movement of the foundation walls. The PowerBraces should be tightened over time, which can gradually straighten the walls. Alton was pleased with the end result and he is glad he chose to permanently restore his foundation.
