A homeowner in Mounds, MN, knew it was time to have their foundation permanently repaired. Overwhelmed by all the options, the homeowner decided to visit HomeAdvisor to see which company stood out over the rest. After looking through all the companies, the homeowners saw that American Waterworks was the highest-rated out of them all. The homeowner visited our website and signed up for their FREE estimate. Once the FREE estimate was set, one of our Design Specialist, Nick, arrived at the home to begin the estimation. Once he was complete, Nick determined that the foundation was in desperate need of stabilization, and the concrete floors required lifting and leveling. Nick recommended a solution to the homeowners that would save the basement from failure. After contemplating their options, the homeowner determined that this was their best option and went through with Nick's recommendations. Once the plans were approved, a crew was assigned to complete the job. Our Foreman, Dylon, and his crew arrived at the home to begin the project. First, the crew focused on stabilizing the crumbling foundation. The crew installed three GeoLock anchors on the northwest wall. Once the GeoLocks were in place, the crew utilized the PolyLevel to lift and level the concrete floor. Next, the crew utilized the NexusPro Sealant to fill the various cracks and joints throughout the concrete. After all the cracks and joints were filled, the crew was able to clean up the project site and leave the home. The homeowners were grateful that their foundation was saved from possible failure. American Waterworks is happy to provide another customer peace of mind.
A homeowner from Mound, MN, had recently learned about the dangers of radon gas. Not wanting his household to be exposed for longer than necessary, he looked into Minnesota radon specialists, and quickly found American Waterworks. He was impressed with our pictures of radon mitigation systems we had installed in his area and decided to sign up for his FREE estimate.
Several weeks later, Kyle P, one of our Design Specialists, was headed to the home. The first part of Kyle's inspection included placing a continuous radon monitoring test in the home's lowest level. The goal of this test is to record radon levels in the home over some time, delivering an average result after the 48-hour test. Then, Kyle went about the rest of his inspection, meeting up with the customer after he finished. Kyle began by commending the homeowner for having their home tested. Kyle gave some background on radon gas and why homeowners should be concerned, stating that radon is a radioactive gas that is emitted as the soil surrounding your home breaks down. It enters the home through small holes and cracks in the foundation and is odorless, colorless, and tasteless, making it an invisible threat to the lining of your lungs. Radon gas is the second leading cause of lung cancer, right behind cigarette smoking, claiming 21,000 lives annually. The only way to combat this dangerous gas? Have your home regularly tested and mitigated if a professional advises you to do so. Kyle finished by stating that the EPA recommends mitigating a home at 4 pCi/L or higher, so if the results returned higher than that, he would strongly urge the homeowner to consider a radon mitigation system. A typical radon mitigation system consists of a large-diameter plastic pipe that connects the air beneath your foundation to the outdoors. An in-line fan sucks radon-rich air from beneath your foundation and expels this hazardous air to the exterior. Instead of entering your basement or other living space area through numerous gaps and cracks in the foundation, radon gas is extracted from beneath your foundation before it can permeate into interior space. The homeowner agreed with Kyle's plan but decided to wait for the results of the test to return. Several days later, Kyle was back out at the home to read the results, which returned well above 4 pCi/L so the homeowner and Kyle found a good day for the system to be installed.
The project date rolled around and our Foreman, Dakota M, and his team were able to place the system on the exterior of the home. Now, our customer has renewed faith in the air circulating his home!

June M. of Karlstad, MN had water leaking through the floor joints of her basement, causing her to worry about flooding and other water damages. One of her peers referred American Waterworks so she called our office staff and scheduled a FREE Estimate with our Design Specialist, Richie Noreen. Richie went to his home, inspected his basement, and came up with a well-designed solution that worked for June and her home repair needs. June got all of her questions answered, so she went ahead with the project.
Our Foreman, Corey Tollefson, and his production team began the installation by breaking out the concrete floor perimeter, forming a trench. In the trench, our crew installed our WaterGuard System, which is a drainage system made to prevent water clogs and collect water seepage from basement walls. To complete the installation, our team filled the open trench gaps with river rock and applied new concrete over it. June was happy with the results and had a great experience with our team!

Ann H. in Lyle, MN was suffering from a wet basement. She started looking for a local waterproofing company and she found American Waterworks’ website. After reading about our waterproofing services, she contacted us to receive a free estimate. One of our Design Specialists, Mac Cole, went to her home to inspect her basement and design a solution. Mac worked closely with Ann to design a personalized plan that was the best fit for her and her home. She was pleased with the proposal that Mac presented to her, so she set a date to have our waterproofing system installed.
Our production team started the process by removing the carpet and the concrete for the WaterGuard drainage system and sump pump to be installed. The WaterGuard was laid on the perimeter of her basement and the sump pump was installed in the corner. The drainage system now properly drains water to the sump pump and from there, the sump pump pushes the water through the discharge line to be expelled from the home. Ann now has peace of mind that her basement will be a dry, clean space for years to come. Our waterproofing system is backed by a lifetime warranty, so Ann is confident that she chose the right solution to protect her basement.
