A homeowner in Hutchinson, MN, noticed that his floors had begun sagging and was unsure of the reason. He did some quick research and learned that having a damaged crawl space is often one of the reasons, because when moisture builds up in the floor joists. After learning this information, the homeowner began searching for services in the area and found our website. The homeowner then contacted us to schedule his FREE estimate.
In a couple of weeks, our Design Specialist, Eric H., arrived at the home to provide a thorough inspection of the crawl space, answer any questions, and provide the best solution to the homeowner. Eric explained to the homeowner that one of the common causes of crawl space damage is having dirt floors. Because your home is not separated from the earth, water can leak through the crawl space floors and create high moisture issues. To fix this issue, Eric recommended SmartDrain, a plumbing leak system that drains water away to a dry well, CleanSpace, a vapor wall barrier, Drainage Matting, an extremely durable matting that creates a drainage space and thermal break between CleanSpace and the ground, Foamax, an insulation foam that helps control humidity levels, and SmartJack, that raises the floor back to where it originally was. After reviewing the proposal, the homeowner happily agreed and scheduled the installation date.
In about a month, our Foreman, Jesus C., and his crew arrived at the home for the installation. They installed 1 SmartDrain, 504 sqft of CleanSpace, 418 sqft of Drainage Matting, 210 sqft of Foamax, and 1 SmartJack. After they were done, they cleaned up their equipment and left the home.

A homeowner in Saint Joseph, MN, had noticed staircase cracks had formed along her basement walls and was concerned they would continue to grow, leading to further instability. She looked into services in the area and came upon one of our ads on social media. She took it upon herself to browse through our website and was impressed with our "Before and After" photos. Soon after browsing our website, she decided to contact us to claim her FREE estimate.
Our Design Specialist, Daniel R., arrived at the home in several weeks and assessed the basement. He explained to the homeowner that one of the most common causes of foundation damage is hydrostatic pressure. Hydrostatic pressure is the pressure exerted by fluid. When the soil surrounding the foundation gets saturated with water, it puts tremendous pressure on the walls. Once the pressure exceeds what the wall can withstand, it is common to see bowing, sheeting, and cracks in the foundation walls. Due to this reason, Daniel recommended our PowerBrace. He explained to the homeowner that our PowerBrace is installed by first cutting the braces so that it fits the height of the wall. Then, the top of the brace is attached to a floor joist at the top of the wall. The crew would then straighten the brace and attach it to the floor. Alongside stabilizing the foundation walls, our PowerBrace has the potential to straighten the walls over time. The homeowner was grateful for Daniel's explanation and agreed to his suggestion. Daniel's plans were then sent to our Foreman, Diego B., for the installation.
In a couple of months, Diego and his crew arrived at the home. They installed a total of three of our PowerBrace. Once they were done with the project, they cleaned up their equipment and left the home.

A homeowner from Worthington, MN, was chatting with her neighbor one day when she learned that they had just had their home tested for radon gas. She didn't know much about the dangers of radon gas but figured it would be worth testing her home, just to be on the safe side. When the homeowner went to look for radon specialists in her area, she quickly found our website. She was impressed with other radon systems we had installed in her area and decided to sign up for her FREE estimate. Several weeks later, Ryan P, one of our Design Specialists, headed out to the home.
When Ryan arrived at the home, he began the process by placing a continuous radon monitoring test in the home and then carried on with his inspection of the home. When Ryan finished, he met with the homeowner. He began by explaining a bit more about what radon is. Radon is an invisible, odorless, colorless gas that is emitted from the breakdown of the soil around your home's foundation. It creeps into your home through small holes or cracks in the foundation and silently wreaks havoc on lung tissue. Ryan went on to say that radon gas is the second leading cause of lung cancer, claiming 21,000 lives each year in the United States. Going back to the test, Ryan explained to the homeowner that the purpose of this test was to record radon levels in the house over 48 hours, delivering an average result when the test concluded. Ryan went on to say that, should the results come back higher than 4 pCi/L, he would strongly recommend the installation of a radon mitigation system. Ryan explained that a typical radon mitigation system consists of a large-diameter plastic pipe that connects the air beneath your foundation to the outdoors. An in-line fan sucks radon-rich air from beneath your foundation and expels this hazardous air to the exterior. Instead of entering your basement or other living space area through numerous gaps and cracks in the foundation, radon gas is extracted from beneath your foundation before it can permeate into interior space. He finished by saying that, when installed by an experienced professional, a radon mitigation system will lower the concentration of radon gas in your interior air to minimal levels recommended by the EPA and other health safety agencies. The homeowner liked Ryan's comprehensive approach and solution, and decided to sign on the spot.
On the day of the installation, our Foreman, Dakota, and his team were able to seamlessly place the system in the home. Now, our customer is thrilled to know that he no longer has to worry about dangerous radon gas!
A homeowner in Fargo, ND, read an article discussing the dangers of radon in their home. Concerned that their home's levels were high, the homeowner began searching for a company to test their radon levels. The homeowner did not have to look far, since American Waterworks was based in Fargo, ND. After reviewing our impressive ratings and reviews, the homeowner knew we were the best option for their home. Since they were already on our website, the homeowner signed up for their FREE estimate. Once the estimate details were finalized, the homeowner prepared for the arrival of our Radon Sales and Service Technician, Jackson. Upon arrival, Jackson completed the radon test and inspected the crawl space. Jackson confirmed that the radon levels were higher in the home and the crawl space required a full encapsulation. Once the test and inspection were completed, Jackson could provide the homeowner with a solution. After hearing Jackson's recommendations, the homeowner knew it was the right plan of action. Next, Jackson passed the plans along to our Logisitcs team to build and schedule the project. Our Logistics team built and approved the plans, and then they were sent back to Jackson to complete the project. Then, Jackson took the prepared plans and traveled back to the home to begin the installation. Jackson arrived at the home and started by installing the Radon Mitigation System. Next, Jackson shifted his focus to encapsulating the crawl space. To encapsulate the space, Jackson used Drainage Matting and CleanSpace to encapsulate the damaged space. Once the crawl space was properly encapsulated, the crew cleaned up their materials and left the home. The homeowner was impressed with the excellent work completed by the crew. American Waterworks is delighted to assist homeowners in repairing their damaged crawl spaces and property mitigating radon.
A homeowner in Maple Grove, MN, noticed that the front steps of his porch had begun sinking and was concerned for its stability. Because the issue is at the entrance of his home, he decided to fix the problem immediately by searching for concrete lifting in the area. The homeowner found our website and was impressed with our 5-star reviews, so he scheduled his FREE estimate.
In a couple of weeks, our Design Specialist, Kyle P., arrived at the home to inspect the homeowner's concerns and to answer any questions. During the inspection, he informed the homeowner that one of the common causes of settling concrete is soil washout. When it rains and floods, water moves through the ground and washes away supporting soils beneath the concrete slab. As this continues, it causes gaps in the soil, and the slab would begin to sink. To fix this issue, Kyle recommended PolyLevel, our waterproof foam expanding formula that is injected beneath the settled slabs and accurately lifts them, and NexusPro, our silicone-based sealant that provides flexibility and high durability so it will not crack or break to seal the joints. After reviewing Kyle's proposal, the homeowner happily agreed and decided to move forward with the project.
In about a month, our Foreman, Patrick B., and his crew arrived at the home for the installation. They began by lifting the step slab to remove the gap beneath the step. Alongside this, they also lifted a row of the back porch. Lastly, the crew used NexusPro to seal the joints between the step and step slab as well as the back porch. After they were done, they cleaned up their equipment and left the home.
